DOORS

Doors are simply one of my favorite subjects to photograph.  Windows are great subjects also, but they don’t intrigue me as much as doors.  In European countries, doors to homes, palaces, gardens, garages, hotels, and churches have existed for centuries.  To me, these doors are the epitome of age and character.  Often, they have been neglected for decades, weathered and charmingly crooked in their jambs, or perhaps, showing countless haphazard repairs.  Doors control entrances and exits to all the places we visit, call home, or store secrets behind.  But, can they be more with a little digital encouragement…like gateways to other dimensions, different realities, or somewhere else  tranquil, or terrifying?  Who knows?  Enter at your own risk, and bring your imagination…
