KNOCKERS GALORE  (DIGITAL PHOTO DERIVATIVE)

This digital composition transforms a classic motif of old Italian door knockers into a surreal encounter. The central, stylized door knocker in the form of an ancient, regal face radiates color and energy. It’s an Egyptian emblem rendered with digital color overlays. The wood-grain background is saturated in deep reds, accented by neon highlights and outlines of blue, green, and yellow, that create an energized, electrical effect.

Small, mirrored versions of the door knocker flank the larger one, adding a sense of playfulness and excess, like the title suggests. Through digital manipulation, we are inspired to consider door ornamentation as a focal point of contemporary art.
