WINTER in BLACK and WHITE
This gallery is an extension of my Black and White Makes Gallery. Winter images are especially amenable to black and white Zone System treatment. I have been to Yosemite National Park and the Sequoia National Forest several times during the winter months. My photography partner and I were the last ones out of Yosemite Valley one year during a blizzard that materialized suddenly in mid-afternoon. The following morning was sunny and bright showing off Yosemite’s snow-covered beauty against blue skies and scattered white clouds. Many of the images in this gallery are from that trip.
As much fun as making this gallery was, I still have not been able to achieve silver snow like Ansel Adams did. That’s a goal yet to be reached…
