ANTELOPE CANYON
Antelope Canyon is a slot canyon within the Lake Powell Navajo Tribal Park near Page, Arizona. It actually consists of six different slot canyons that can be accessed by permit and with Navajo guides. The largest and most visited canyon is Upper Antelope Canyon. This area is a must for serious landscape photographers to include in their portfolios. We visited the upper canyon on two consecutive days during May 2009. The second day proved more successful as our visit was during midday when the sun was directly overhead providing the best light for photography. It also proved to be a spiritual experience as our guide played native music on his hand-carved flute during our hike through the canyon.
