FLORENTINE SCULPTURE
As the birthplace of the Renaissance, the city of Florence, Italy, is home to a vast array of masterful sculptures by world- renowned artists. As a photographer drawn to art, it is impossible for me to ignore these masterpieces. However, I believe that I should add something unique to these works when capturing them with my camera, not just record or copy another artist's work. Many of the images in this gallery are isolated sections of a larger sculpture that may be in soft focus, or have unique lighting or composition in order to express my point of view. Also, to present them in a manner befitting the age and history of the work, all were processed with a particular treatment in Photoshop in order to render them as seen in this gallery. Please keep in mind that these images are some favorites of only a small sample of the hundreds of sculptures housed in the piazzas, churches and museums of Florence.
